Best In Class
This in-depth covered the baseball team who won the state championship over the summer. It discusses the season in brief, the final games leading up to the ultimate win, the culture of the team, and the head coach that leads the pack.
I completed the whole package, including taking the photos.
The Soundtrack of Your Life
A fun piece about how the music you listen to in high school is what you listen to for forever. I designed the layout and created the photo illustration. Noah Gilbert took the photo, and Levi Manley wrote the story.
Their New Voice
An in-depth covering students who were voting for the first time in the 2020 election and why this election was different. The story is accompanied by an infographic that gives relevant statistics about the state of the election.
I completed the whole package.
COVID-19: A Year Later
This in-depth served as a formal update to the coronavirus situation at our school. It covered the substitute shortage, the rules about quarantine, living with the virus, and community spread.
I designed the layout for both pages and wrote the timeline. Marandah Mangra-Dutcher wrote the story.
A Guide to Valley Junction
This page was part of the January issue, which was our publication's first ever photo edition. I wandered the streets and shops of the Historic Valley Junction, taking pictures of all the unique sights and features.
Bobalicious
This was a feature about boba and bubble tea. It was written by London Heim, and I designed and illustrated the layout.
What Happens to the Weight
What Happens to the Weight is a commentary piece written by Charles Pruett-Shilak. He goes into detail about what wrestlers, including himself, do to maintain a certain weight class during the wrestling season. It is a very eye-opening story, and I worked very hard on making sure the layout did the subject well.
I took the photo, did the photoillustration and designed the road divider.

Stop Giving Gifts
This was a story about how gift-giving can be found during so many holidays, yet the holidays being celebrated don't call for gifts. It also dives into the financial implications of gift-giving in America.
Let's Talk: College
Let's Talk is a podcast where various members of the staff get together to cover different topics. The first episode was about college plans, and I got to share what my current plans are for next year.
