Savannah Dennis
About Me
My name is Savannah Dennis. I am currently serving my second year as a staff writer for the Johnston High School Black and White newspaper. This is also my first year on the editorial board as the Print Editor.
On the staff, I enjoy writing stories about the things that I am passionate about; I find the stories turn out better that way. Last year, to see me take a photo or design a layout was like spotting the tooth fairy. But during the pandemic, I forced myself to branch out and started designing. While I'm far from being a pro, I now enjoy illustrating and designing layouts a great deal. I have also become the go-to mod designer on the staff.
Out of the news room, I'm the pitch design specialist for the Johnston Baseball team, where I have managed since freshman year. I'm also the head manager, which involves wearing many different hats as I lead a growing group of ten managers.
After high school, I plan on attending college (which one is still up in the air) while double-majoring in statistics and sports and recreation management. Alongside that, I hope to be a part of the management staff for their baseball team. My goal is to be involved in professional baseball, either through statistics or player development.
